Why Two Palms?

Successful business and personal planning (the “Two” in Two Palms) are all about building resilience for unknown obstacles in the future. With strong roots, a palm can soar 100–200 feet high, swaying but undeterred by the volatile winds.

A well-constructed financial plan also mirrors the effect of a soothing, tranquil palm. Confidence and calm amid uncertainty.

What is a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA)?

An RIA provides advice on investment management and/or financial planning and is compensated for that advice. Broker-dealers and hybrid broker-dealer/RIAs often receive some or all of their compensation from commissions on products sold (e.g., loans, insurance policies, in-house investment funds).

My goal is simple: to provide advice solely based on what’s best for you, no matter which product or solution we use.

Do you specialize in working with business owners?

Yes. Two Palms Financial specifically focuses on the unique financial planning needs of small business owners, entrepreneurs, and solopreneurs.

Unlike traditional financial advisors who provide generic advice, we understand the challenges of irregular income, business cash flow management, tax optimization strategies for business owners, integrating business and personal finances, and the grueling experience of selling a business.

We work with business owners across various industries including professional services, real estate investors, creative agencies, e-commerce, healthcare practices, and skilled trades.

What makes you different from other financial advisors in Orange County?

Three key differences:

Business Owner Focus: Our service model, meeting frequency, and thought leadership address business owners’ key money concerns and opportunities.

Fee-Only Fiduciary: We are a fee-only registered investment advisor (RIA), meaning we never receive commissions, kickbacks, or compensation from product sales. Our only compensation comes from you, ensuring our advice is always in your best interest. We are fiduciaries 100% of the time.

No Minimum Assets Required: Many advisors require $500,000 to $1,000,000 or more in investable assets. We don't. We offer flexible fee structures so business owners at different stages can access quality financial planning.

What do your credentials mean, and why should they matter to me?

I hold the Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) designation, the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) charter, and an MBA in Finance. Each credential reflects a different area of expertise:

CFP®: Focused on comprehensive financial planning, covering cash flow, retirement planning, tax planning, insurance, and estate planning. It ensures advice is structured around your whole financial picture.

CFA®: Globally recognized as the gold standard for investment analysis and portfolio management. A grueling, multi-year curriculum spanning three levels and covering portfolio management, economics, accounting, financial statement analysis, and ethics among others.

Together, these credentials reflect both breadth and depth: the ability to look at your entire financial life holistically, while also bringing technical investment and business expertise to the table.

Do you only work with clients locally?

Two Palms Financial is based in San Clemente, California, and we serve business owners throughout Orange County and Southern California. Our clients are located in cities including Newport Beach, Irvine, Costa Mesa, Laguna Beach, Dana Point, Mission Viejo, San Juan Capistrano, Oceanside, Carlsbad, and beyond.

We work with clients virtually throughout California, making it easy for busy business owners to get financial planning without geographic limitations.

Do you require a minimum amount of investible assets to work with you?

No. While I do offer portfolio management and charge based on a percentage of assets managed, I also provide ongoing financial planning that doesn’t require you to invest with me. This service is billed as an annual, fixed fee based on complexity and meeting frequency.

What is a typical Two Palms client meeting?

Our first conversations focus on you: what prompted you to reach out, what money means to you, and what you hope to achieve personally and professionally.

Once we build a comprehensive plan aligned with your goals and values, our future meetings follow a rhythm based on timely, calendar-driven topics, ensuring we address opportunities and deadlines as they arise.

Managing money progress feels overwhelming. How do you keep track?

That’s where The Lookout Tower comes in. Your one-page snapshot of the most important measures of your personal and professional progress. Full financial plans are robust documents packed with valuable data. The Lookout Tower distills that information into the key metrics that matter most for reaching your goals.

What outcome should I expect when working with you?

Clarity, confidence, and more time for what matters.

You’ve already taken the hardest step of starting the conversation. Together, we’ll create a roadmap that bridges your current reality to your ideal future.

Time is your most precious resource. My mission is to give you back as much of it as possible so you can focus on the personal and professional pursuits that bring you joy.
